Julian Thew Wins SkyPoker Tour Luton Main Event

Julian Thew of Team Sky Poker added another title to his impressive display of tournament victories, including an EPT and three GUKPT's, with victory in the third leg of the 2011-12 Sky Poker Tour in Luton this weekend. Julian beat 199 other runners to the title and the £11,200 first prize. With his win Thew shot to the lead of the new Sky Poker Tour Leaderboard, helped by a runners up finish in the £100 side event the night before the Main Event.

The 200 Main Event competitors produced a sell-out event, with many qualifying online on Sky Poker for as little as £5. Thew beat Sky Poker regular Shaun "Shaun 1972" Cook heads-up when turning two pair with on an ace-high board to outdraw Cook's ace-jack. Other cashers included SkyPoker analyst Carlo Citrone and renowened poker blogger Adam "Snoopy" Goulding.

The Sky Poker Tour now moves to dual events on 10th March, in Glasgow and Brighton. Satellite Qualification for these events begins later this week on www.skypoker.com
