In news that will come of no real surprise to you readers, Jake Cody has entered a live tournament, reached the final table and done so as the chip leader. What a life! Mr Cody goes into the final table of the GUKPT Grand Final armed with 1,416,500 chips and is on course to add a further £138,750 to his already straining wallet.
Although the PKR sponsored pro is the chip leader he is only just that, leading Fabian Quoss by just 500 chips and the German will be looking for revenge after the pair were seated together at the final table of the WPT London Main Event and Cody eliminated Quoss on his way to victory.
Keeping Cody and Quoss company and hoping to get their hands on the 2,832,500 chips they hold between them are Alex Elias, James Mitchell, Nathan Watson, Lalit Khajuria, Tamer Kamal, John Gale and Jonas Ovestad. Each of them are guaranteed £9,750 for their efforts but they might as well just take that now because this has got a Cody win written all over it.
