Poker Encore have unveiled their latest addition to their growing roster of pros, British poker pro James Williams. Many will known Williams as LJAMESL, a player who almost certainly terrorised them at the No Limit Hold'em cash game tables.
Williams, 25 and from Swindon, is rumoured to have built his bankroll from a single $20 deposit and can be now found playing as high as NL2000 ($10/$20) online. Like most online poker professionals, Williams sometimes dips his toes into the shark infested waters of live tournaments and to date has more than $200,000 in winnings. The largest score of Williams' career so far came in 2009 when he finished as runner-up to Priyan de Mel in the GUKPT Blackpool Main Event for a cool £52,400. More recently he took down the Sky Poker Tour Grand Final in September for a bankroll boosting £22,264.
One of the co-founders of Poker Encore, Karl Mahrenholz, said of his new signing, “I first played with James 2/3 years ago and recognised the raw talent he had. Not only is he a fearless player but he plays the game with a great attitude, which is so important to make it in the poker world.”
Williams joins Mahrenholz, Paul “Action” Jackson, Simon “Amatay” Jones and Constantine Paparestis as the site's sponsored pros.
