More than half of the PartyPoker.com Premier League Mixed Game Championship final table has been set and along with Andrew Feldman there will be another British poker pro present, a certain James Dempsey.
Demspey was part of Group A, which meant he had to lock horns with Tony G, Max Pescatori, Jennifer Tilly, Matt Giannetti and Luke Schwartz but despite being surrounded by such big names and personalities the talented Brit shone and he secured his seat at the six-handed final table by winning the first and third heats.
The Brighton-based pro destroyed the field when playing No Limit Hold'em (Heat 1) and finished with 16 points having used his double up card. This itself almost guaranteed his final table seat but he then finished last in the Pot Limit Omaha event (Heat 2) and picked up no points. However, any fears the World Series of Poker bracelet winner had about not progressing were soon dashed as he won the Pot Limit Hold'em event (Heat 3) yesterday afternoon, defeating November Nine's Giannetti heads-up, just as he had done in Heat 1.
Joining Dempsey on the final table will be his Group A table mates Giannetti and Pescatori plus Feldman and Andy Frankenberger from Group B. There is one more spot available and that will go to either Sorel Mizzi or Yevgeniy Timoshenko who are still playing, three handed with Feldman, so Group B is yet to be completed.
The final table takes place Thursday 17 November at around 1630, tune in tomorrow to discover who won the PartyPoker.com Premier League Mixed Game Championship or follow the PartyPoker blog for live updates throughoiut the day.
