2011 GUKPT Grand Final Festival Starts Today!

The 2011 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) is drawing to a close as the Grand Final Festival kicks off today at the famous Grosvenor Victoria Casino in London. Boasting at least 12 events and dozens of satellites the GUKPT Grand Final should have something to suit the bankrolls of everyone.

The crowning jewel of the Grand Final is the £2,500+£125 Main Event that begins on Thursday 1 December at midday and should attract upwards of 200 players. In 2008 it was the UK online poker superstar Paul “bad pab” Foltyn who walked away as the Champion, with former professional footballer Tony Cascarino taking the honours in 2009.

Last year saw Leon Bui outlast a star-studded field of 206 opponents to scoop the £144,905 first place prize. He had to overcome an extremely talented final table that was the home to the likes of Chaz Chatta (3rd), Chris Brammer (9th) and PKR sponsored pro James Sudworth (10th).

Highlights of this year's festival include a £250+£25 No Limit Hold'em re-entry event, a £250+£25 short-handed No Limit Hold'em tournament and a £500+£5 Dealer's Choice event where the games will be Pot Limit Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha, Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Low and Pot Limit Irish!
