The Sky Poker Tour has returned for another season and they are hoping to build on the success of the 2010/11 season by adding new and exciting events to the already impressive schedule.
Today marks the start of the first Main Event of the 2011/12 season at the superb Dusk Till Dawn poker club in Nottingham. The £220 buy-in event is being played in a six-max format, much like the tournaments held on Sky Poker's online poker site, and should be sold out by the time you read this article as the 180 player cap has almost being reached. There will be space for alternates but these cannot be guaranteed to be able to participate for obvious reasons.
One of the improvements to the tour is in the blind structure for the Main Event. Each player will receive 15,000 chips and play to the “Festival Structure” that has been tried and tested by Dusk Till Dawn on many occasions. The plan for Day 1 is to play at least 12 levels, each lasting 40-minutes, with the surviving players returning on Sunday to conclude the tournament.
Players and supporters who are not registered with Dusk Till Dawn are kindly reminded to bring some valid photographic identification with them otherwise they will not be allowed on the premises.
A whole host of Team Sky Poker pros will be in attendance including Julian Thew, fresh from winning his record third GUKPT title in Coventry. Tune in over the weekend to discover who has become Leg 1 of the 2011/12 Sky Poker Tour Champion.
