John Shipley Closing in on $10,000 PLO Championship

More British success at the World Series of Poker, this time in Event #42: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship. Pot Limit Hold’em champion John Kabbaj came very close, finishing in 6th place for $153,517, leaving it to the other British John at the table, John Shipley.

Shipley is 2nd in the final four players with 2.7 million chips, just behind overall leader Ben Lamb and just above high stakes star Sami Kelopuro. John is best known for capturing the first EPT London title in 2004 but is also remembered for making the 2002 WSOP Main Event final table. Tonight he will be going for his first bracelet and a first prize of $814,436 (He is already guaranteed $273,575).
