The fields merge tomorrow night as both day 2A and day 2B of the World Series of Poker Main Event are in the books. Sunday is a day off for our 1359 players and they reconvene on Monday for day 3. The overall chip leader is David Assouline who has 387,800 chips and unfortunately you have to go quite a long way to find a Brit that comes close.
The overall UK & Ireland leader is also the bookies favourite to do well out of the Brits, double bracelet winner Praz Bansi who boasts 210,000. Jack Elwood is doing well with 161,500 and Hendon Mobster Barny Boatman is also doing well with 145,000 as is his brother Ross with 106,000. Last year’s bracelet winner John Kabbaj has a neat 100,000 when he returns.
Other big UK names coming back for day 3 include David Ulliott, JP Kelly, Peter Gould, Stephen Chidwick, Roland De Wolfe, Paul Parker, Kara Scott and Roberto Romanello. There are plenty of other, lesser known right now, Brits who could be household names in a few days and with more than half the remaining field set to make the money, you can rest assured we will know them very soon.
Stay tuned to our WSOP Main Event Live Updates for all the action from day 3 from Monday night. Don’t forget you can also do it from your iPhone with our brand new Live Reporting App.
While you are watching our Live Updates you can win money for free. That’s because Pokerstars are kindly hosting a series of $2,000 PokerNews WSOP Reporting Freerolls when the main event gets deep on July 15, 16, and 17 at 19:05 EDT. To register for the freeroll you just need a PokerStars account and the password which will be released a few hours before the tournament is to begin.
