Pokerstars UK & Ireland Tour Begins in Galway
The hotly anticipated Pokerstars UK & Ireland Poker Tour makes its debut today in Galway, Ireland at the Radisson Hotel. The new tour that will go up and down the UK and Ireland over the next 12 months makes a familiar start at the Irish Poker Championships, which was won in 2008 by recent addition to Team Pokerstars, Jude Ainsworth.
The €2,000 main event is expected to have quite a high satellite qualifier presence and should create one of the bigger local prize pools of the year. Marty Smyth, Peter Eastgate and JP Kelly have been singled out as the 50/1 favourites to win the event, with James Akenhead, Neil Channing, Andy Black and Jude Ainsworth just behind them at 66/1.
The full schedule looks like this:
Thursday 10th Player Party €300+€30 Super Satellite
Friday 11th €2,000 Main Event Day 1
Saturday 12th €550 Freezeout (2 Day) Main Event Day 2
Sunday 13th €350 Freezeout (2 Day) Main Event Day 3
Monday 14th €250 Freezeout (1 Day) Main Event Final Table
