Poland win APAT European Team Championships, DTD 20Twenty Results + more

Poland win APAT European Team Championships

Over in Luton at the G Casino, the 2009 APAT European Amateur Team Championship was taking place over the weekend with 12 countries fighting to take down this prestigious title. The event was held over two days, with each of the teams comprising four players, battling it out over a series of 80 Six Max Sit & Go and Heads Up matches with points awarded according to finishing positions.

The English team led the way after day one and well into the second day, but fell by the wayside in the final two rounds, under achieving and finishing in 3rd place and allowing Polamd to capture the title after winning a best of three heads up tie break with France. The winning team took a team prize of £3,200, Championship Cup and Gold medals, with France and England also receiving prize money and Silver and Bronze medals.

The final result was as follows:

Poland – 65 (Poland win play off)
France – 65
England – 57
Hungary – 55
Portugal – 55
Scotland – 52
Northern Ireland – 50
Germany – 49
Italy – 46
Wales – 44
Republic of Ireland – 38

Another 20Twenty Success at Dusk Till Dawn

The second monthly 20Twenty Weekend at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham was a huge success once again. Both mirror £100 main events sold out with 270 and 271 players respectively on Saturday and Sunday. The Saturday event was won by Daniel Ward who pocketed £8,336 and the Sunday event was won by 2006 WSOP bracelet winner Lawrence Gosney who won £8,369.

Inside Poker to Cease Publishing

UK poker magazine Inside Poker has revealed that it will cease to be in 2010. The magazine formally known as Inside Edge was one of the first poker magazines in the UK and will be handing over its subscriber base to its sister magazine Poker Player. Earlier this year Flush Magazine also stopped trading.
