GUKPT Cardiff Main Event Today
After a brief hiatus, the Grosvenor Casino in Cardiff plays host to the GUKPT main event once again. The Cardiff leg was a popular stop in 2007 and famously crowned ex Eastender Michael Greco one of the first ever GUKPT champions. The four day £1000 main event gets underway with day 1A today.
This was also the event that first brought the Romanello name to our attention as European Open champion Roberto Romanello came third in this event and went on to become one of the most popular faces on the UK and European circuit. He is of course part of a famous clan of Romanellos, and tournament sponsors Blue Square have pondered which Romanello will last the longest out of Nicky, Roberto, Antoni and Frank Romanello. One thing is for sure, there will be a lot of bragging rights on the line in this one and they will be trying their hardest.
Stay tuned to UK Pokernews for all the action from this fun packed main event.
exPLOsion Rake Race at Paddy Power
Another great reason to grind at Paddy Power Poker in September, as the top poker room have announced they will be dishing out $130,000 in cash in September and October for PLO enthusiasts. Four leader boards for PLO and Omaha hi/lo players will award weekly cash prizes starting on September 7th for the next six weeks.
"There is nothing better than a loud BANG to shake things up on the cash tables!" said Paddy Power, Communications Manager for Paddy Power Poker. "Hopefully our players will take a look at the $130,000 on offer, light their fuse and get ready to explode onto the Omaha tables – we've been stockpiling our gunpowder for months so it's about time for the biggest exPLOsion of all!"
This promotion is available on several iPoker skins, however the real added incentive here is of course the September Surge they have this month, where players can climb up the VIP ranks much quicker this month to have a shot at the €100,000 sponsorship promotion next month. Add on to that a $600 sign up bonus and there are loads of reasons to take your Omaha over to Paddy Power Poker this month.
