Dusk Till Dawn Seven Days a Week

Great news for Dusk Till Dawn now as the Nottingham club has announced they will be opening their doors seven days a week again from tomorrow. From 5 to 7, the club will have two tournaments at night at 8.00pm and 8.15pm, and the new weekly schedule will include 4 tournaments specifically for beginners with entry fees of £10 and £15. Not only is the scheduled as player friendly as it gets, every event is guaranteed.

Rob Yong commented, "By opening 7 days we are able to introduce a number of different tournaments to cater for different tastes, bankrolls and experience, we will also be now able to recruit more staff so that we can hold our major monthly events 'in 'house. Last month we had 600 people turn up for our £100k Deepstack Weekend and had to fly in freelance poker dealers from France to cope. With the launch of a further new monthly event, the £40k 'Twenty Twenty', where we expect over 500 entries each month, having more dealers will become even more important."

This is great news for UK poker and a real two fingered salute to all the speculation the club would have to close following the new government revenue tax that was introduced, Yong added:

"It was a very tough time for everyone, after all of the hard work put in by our staff, the new poker tax felt like a real kick in the teeth, however, we have dusted ourselves down, paid every penny of the tax and we will soldier on. We had a few decent offers to buy us out, but it just didn't feel right to chuck the towel in after trading for less than 18 months, especially since it took so long through the courts to even get the place open."

IPO 2009 Sell Out

The International Poker Open has now officially sold out all their 1,200 direct buy-in seats and now the only way to get in is via qualifiers on sponsors Boylepoker's iPoker skin. 1271 players are already confirmed and surely a world record is once again on the horizon for this $225+$25 event at the Dublin Regency Hotel from October 16th. It needs to beat 1347 players to break the record for biggest event outside of the USA.

Paul Spillane, head of Boylepoker.com said, "We're delighted to have sold out the direct buy-ins almost three weeks before cards are in the air but there are still plenty of opportunities for players to qualify through our online satellites. Also expect some more announcements before the biggest game in town gets underway!"
