Pokerstars Qualifier turns Main Event Package into Dream Wedding

Pokerstars are in the news again today as one of their main event qualifiers from the UK used the free trip to Vegas to marry his girlfriend. Jason Herbert from Scunthorpe married his fiancé Catherine Phillips, whom he met working in a betting shop, at the Little White Wedding Chapel, with the poker player fully kitted in Elvis attire.

"I qualified for $30 online," Herbert said. "But the trip ending up costing about four grand." If it was to be an omen for the future cost of married life, one of Herbert's children knocked over an expensive candel in the chapel lobby costing him a further $500.

And what did Herbert do to celebrate his first day as a married man? He went back into the Rio to play day 2a of the main event, no longer using his wedding ring as a card protector.

And who said Poker Players weren't romantic?
