Sky Poker SIX times Faster
Sky Poker have undergone a serious software upgrade after listening to the requests of their customers. It now runs a staggering six times faster at the new slicker looking tables. Other new features include a slider bar, a new chat box facility that displays hand histories as well as player chat, a bigger player notes section and an updated action plinth that shows an opponent's last move and chip stack at all times.

"We have listened to our community of players and are delighted to bring them this quicker, slicker version," said Emma Crowe, Head of Marketing at Sky Poker."

To celebrate the launch of the new faster website Sky Poker is holding two promotions: When playing on the real money tables if dealt two kings of the same colour players can win up to £25. Sky Poker will also be holding three £500 freerolls which will be held on Monday 7th Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th September. Not only that but of course there is currently a £250 no deposit bonus that we told you about last week.

The WCOOP is Back

Most of the poker world is telling you about the signing of hockey star Mats Sundin to Team Pokerstars Pro; but we told you about that yesterday before the news broke so we won't do that again.

What we will remind you about is the start of the biggest ever World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOOP) at Pokerstars, which kicks off tomorrow with a $215 6 max event. Over $30 million is guaranteed this time round with some of the biggest tournaments ever seen online. Everyone is getting excited about the high rollers events but we are kinda keen to see how the four handed event goes down.

To remind you of the events making their debut at the WCOOP this year:
• $10,300 High-Roller No-Limit Hold'em
• Eight-Game Mixed Tourney
• Four-Max No-Limit Hold'em
• Mixed Hold'em
• Pot Limit Omaha with one rebuy, one add-on
• $25,500 High-Roller Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em
• Six-Max Mixed Hold'em
• No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw
• Six-Max No-Limit Hold'em w/ rebuys

"This year's WCOOP is set to be bigger and better than ever," said Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu. "When playing online, you really have to focus more on playing the game well. Playing in the WCOOP has definitely helped me become a better player."

High Stakes tables break all records yesterday

For over two years the biggest ever pot online was the infamous pot between Fast Freddie and , which stood at $465,451.
Yesterday that record was broken, three times, all involving Tom 'durrrr' Dwan at the Rail Heaven table on Full Tilt.

The first big pot was between durrrr and Peter Jepsen, which was a set of aces for durrrr against a 3-4 of diamonds on an A-K-6 flop with two diamonds. The aces held up and durrrr won a pot of $474,949.

It was then to be durrrr against fellow internet legend Phil Galfond, both men had huge stacks and Galfond managed to flop a straight with 6-9 offsuit and get it paid off. It's unknown what Dwan had, which is a shame because at $499,037 it was the biggest pot in online history.

Finally, durrrr and Galfond were locking horns again, this time with Dwan rivering a flush with Q-3 of hearts. It's unknown what Galfond had but it was another $474,949 pot for the railbirds to cheer.

Elsewhere on Full Tilt Lynette Chan was spotted taking down a $73.26 pot at the $1/$2 tables.

Amsair named as the official airline of the WSOPE

This does actually fall into the category of 'irrelevant' for most of you, because we UK player's don't exactly have to go that far to get to the WSOPE this year, but for those of you ex-pats travelling back home this year listen up.

Amsair was yesterday announced as the latest top line sponsor for the forthcoming World Series of Poker Europe to be held next month in London, UK. The deal will make Amsair Executive Aviation the official airline of the tour and will allow Betfair Poker customers exclusive and discounted rates on any of the private jets in the extensive Amsair charter fleet

Betfair poker players will now be able to travel in style to the numerous poker events worldwide simply by playing on the site. Players who utilize this option will be able to play poker (for fun) on board the planes so that they reach their tournaments relaxed and prepared for what lies ahead.

We really hope the two millionaire UK players who want to jet into London in style remember who told you first about this new partnership, don't forget to look out for the guys with the notepads counting chips when you are going on a tipping frenzy.
