Littlewoods Poker are the latest poker room to unveil a high profile signing, with the news that they have snapped up Michael Greco as a sponsored professional. The former Eastenders star is one of the few celebrity players on the poker circuit to have an almost unanimous respect amongst their peers for being 'the real deal' at the tables and has proven this with a final table yesterday at the WSOP.

Greco already had fantastic poker pedigree prior to his sponsorship, last year not only was he ranked second in Europe in Pot Limit Omaha but he also won the Cardiff leg of the GUKPT for £100,000. "I was pleased with that," Greco said of the win, "because it made

people realise I wasn't just another 'celeb' catching the poker wave, I could actually play. Also, a hundred grand comes in handy at any time."

Still a working actor, his ambition is to do the double and win both an Oscar and a WSOP bracelet, he almost fulfilled one of the two dreams yesterday, were it not for a cold deck.

Greco made the final table of the $2000 Pot Limit Hold'em event yesterday alongside big names like Lee Watkinson and Ben Roberts. His stay at the final table was short lived, however, when he looked down at a beautiful pair of kings only to run them into an even prettier pair of aces. Greco cashed for $22k in what must have been a bittersweet first event as a Littlewoods Poker professional.
