Step up to the WSOP for Free with Pokerstars

It might still be unseasonabley arctic conditions outside but we assure you, the Las Vegas sun and the 39th Annual World Series of Poker*, Hosted by the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino, is just round the corner. Pokernews are becoming synonymous with the WSOP because of our ground breaking coverage on the event. So are Pokerstars, who are expected to send 1000 players to the big one this year. So it only makes sense that we joined forces with Pokerstars to bring you the 'Step Up to the WSOP*' freeroll series which could see the winner take home a massive $12,500 World Series* Package.

The first five free rolls are worth $17,320 each and pay the top 54 finishers. The winner will of course take home the $12,500 package and the following 53 finishers will be paid with entries to the PokerStars WSOP* Step tournaments. Players receive entry to Step 1 ($7.50) up to Step 6 ($2,100):

Bubbling should no longer be a concern in this series because finishing just shy of first still puts you in a realistic frame to take down a WSOP seat. Plus the fact that the consolation prizes are Steps seats means you could bubble several times over on the same ticket and still take down a Main Event seat, all for an original investment of $0.

Interested players should download Pokerstars through PokerNews, sign up a new account, make a deposit and earn 300 VPPs within the specific qualification windows. Qualified players will be issued with a ticket (after the qualification period ends) which must be used to register for the freeroll.

The five $17,320 Team PokerNews Freerolls are scheduled at 15:00 EST/16:00 EDT on:

The final freeroll in this exciting 'Step up to the WSOP' series is a whopping $25,000 in value! It awards the top two finishers with a $12,500 Team PokerStars Package each – that's double your chances! It kicks off on Friday May 30 at 10:00 EST/11:00 EDT. To enter, download Pokerstars through PokerNews, register a new account, make a deposit and earn 500 VPPs between May 21 and May 27. Qualified players must register for the freeroll using the ticket which will be issued to them after May 27.

Each $12,500 Package will grant the winner buy-in to the $10,000 Main Event plus $2,500 cash for travel and accommodation. Winners can also join Team PokerStars and also receive access to their very own Merchandise Pack.
