Eyes down and anchors away with Party Poker

Not many weeks go by without us mentioning a major poker tournament that Party Poker are involved with. This weekend the Party Poker Million VI will set sail from Venice for a week long of poker, partying and hopefully not too much sea sickness.

30 countries will be represented in the main event and amongst those fancied to make an impact include Canada's history-making Mike 'Timex' McDonald, Sweden's 2008 Late Night Poker winner Andreas Jorbeck, Brazil's Christian Kruel, Danish sensation Soeren Kongsgaard, Germany's Florian Langmann and Alexander Jung and Finland's Mika Paasonen. The line-up is a united nations of next generation poker talent.

This event was previously a limit hold'em event, with previous winners going on to big things like Erick Lindgren, Kathy Liebert and Howard Lederer. However, now that this has become a Euro-centric event, it has switched onto the no limit format.

Once again it proves that Party Poker is the place to play for satellites, as there will be plenty of online qualifiers making the most of their $12,000 packages. A PartyPoker.com spokesman said: "The excitement is building ahead of the first ever PartyPoker.com Million to be held in Europe. We estimate a total prize pool of over $1.3 million."
