This week's UK Legend of Poker is a man that has literally bulldozed his way to the top. Considered by many to be one of the scariest players to ever play a pot with, away from the table he is a quiet and approachable gent. Ram 'Crazy Horse' Vaswani is one of the most aggressive and fearless players in the world and is usually the guy to see either bust out first, or take the title, in any tournament he plays.
Ram is the second member of the Hendon Mob to feature in the UK Legends of Poker, and even with the recent late surge by Joe Beevers, he stands head and shoulders as being the most successful Mobster on the tournament circuit. A former snooker professional, Ram first came to our attention on the show Late Night Poker with the rest of the Mob.
For over a decade Vaswani has been tearing up the European circuit. In 1999 he won the Masters Classic of Poker in Amsterdam then won back to back events in the Vienna Spring Festival in 2000. In 2002 he made an impressive three final tables at the WSOP, all in different disciplines and he followed this up in 2004 by making another three, this time all in hold'em.
The European Poker Tour was to be the setting for his first major title, when he won the inaugural EPT Dublin in 2004. He has since followed this up by making another three EPT final tables, including the Grand Final in Monte Carlo last year. To date he holds the record for EPT final tables, currently at four.
After already making 6 WSOP final tables, last year Crazy Horse finally won his first bracelet in the $1500 Limit Hold'em shootout event. He also proved his online pedigree recently when he made back to back finals in the two main events of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series last weekend for several hundred thousand dollars. Ram has more than $3 million in live tournament cashes under his belt and one can only wonder what the rest of his gambling activity can afford or has cost him.
Ram Vaswani has been described as an avid gambler who will bet on anything that moves and is well known for his high stakes golf and Chinese poker gambling. It is this willingness to gamble that makes Ram 'Crazy Horse' Vaswani one of the most intimidating players to sit across the table from and every hand you play against him could easily be your last.
