Minieri captains EPT Warsaw Final Table
Pint sized Pokerstars.net Pro Dario Minieri is within touching distance of his first EPT title today, as he takes a narrow chip lead into the final table of the EPT Polish Open in Warsaw. He has been up with the big stacks since day one and he has managed to bypass a big threat in the form of UK player Roland De Wolfe on the penultimate day.
Our money is on Minieri too, the fearless Italian bracelet winner has a good omen at the table being a Team Pokerstars.net Pro, with his team mates Peter Eastgate, Hevad Khan and ElkY all taking down major titles in the last month or so. As usual the only place to find out the eventual winner is during our exclusive Live Updates.
EPT Warsaw Final Table:
Seat 1: Arnaud Mattern - 238,000
Seat 2: Ludovic Lacay - 296,500
Seat 3: Andrea Benelli - 100,000
Seat 4: Michael Muheim - 89,000
Seat 5: Joao Barbosa - 123,000
Seat 6: Dario Minieri - 359,500
Seat 7: Nico Behling - 343,500
Seat 8: Sergey Shcherbatskiy - 349,000
Seat 9: Atanas Gueorguiev - 186,500
Sun Poker moves to the iPoker Network
More fantastic news for the iPoker network/terrible news for the CryptoLogic network this week, as top poker room Sun Poker will be moving there from CryptoLogic in the middle of December. Players will still be able to play on the CryptoLogic network until the end of January. In a statement to customers, Sun Poker commented "As you may know, the Playtech software is one of the most popular in the world due to its award winning game offerings, multiple currency and multiple language features, and unparalleled innovation in the online gaming world."
MPPs will not be transferrable to the new iPoker skin, however Sun Poker will be launching a promotion directly related to the number of MPPs a player has accumulated in due course.
2009 will be a very interesting year for the iPoker network and we will most likely see the poker room flourish. The share price is already going up and with the recent acquisitions of Sun Poker, William Hill and Mansion Poker, it will really be contending for the place of 2nd biggest poker room after Pokerstars.

150 real life players embarked on the Loose Cannon Club in London last weekend to play live poker against all their virtual reality counterparts on PKR. PKR Live saw online players from all over the World come to London for a weekend of fun and a number of great value tournaments.
"I've always wanted to win a tournament with 7-2 said Phillip Conneller, a local boy from London, as he made the call to scoop the $20,000 first prize:

Poker revenue down at PartyPoker
Party Poker has seen poker revenue decline by 15%, year on year to $65 million, for quarter 3. Average daily revenue is down 15% to $706,800 and unique active players fell by 5% to 409,700 with just 92,100 new money sign ups in the quarter.
Thankfully for PartyGaming the sports betting, casino and bingo revenues are all up significantly. This news reflects the period before they made a major poker software upgrade which will presumably see an improved 4th quarter. Party Poker will also be announcing a new loyalty programme in December and it is rumoured they will be taking on 'skins' too, both of which will hopefully help revenues in 2009.
