PKR to host singles 'Poker Nights' in London, European Deepstack Poker Championships return and more

PKR launch poker dating service

Virtual reality poker room PKR are once again bridging the gap between online and live poker, this time with a series of poker nights aimed at singles in London. They have teamed up with LoveStruck.com to host poker nights where men and women can meet and play poker starting next month, at the Hoxton Pony bar in London on November 6th.

Simon Prodger of PKR said "Poker is a very social game and we know our players actively chat both in the game and on our forums. We've seen romance bloom on PKR and so partnering with a site like Lovestruck that caters to young, outgoing professionals is perfect for us."

I for one am glad I am spoken for, because if I had to pull at a poker tournament I would have no chance. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure this will be a huge success, I could just envisage ruining an hour of my best lines on a lady in one fell swoop by angrily saying "How can you call with that you muppet?" to her.

Norwegian online giant Johnny Lodden has put pen to paper with Pokerstars.net to possibly join their growing team of poker superstars. And it seems like a good omen for him, because he is amongst the chip leaders in the Pokerstars.net EPT Budapest as we start day 2. 182 players will sit down again today as battle commences for a nearly €600,000 first prize and the chip leaders look like this:
