Sky Poker UK Tour
One day Sky Poker will take over the world judging by the rate that the UK poker room and TV channel are developing. They have now announced a series of live poker events across the UK which starts at Dusk Till Dawn and ends with a Televised Grand Final with a £25,000 prize pool.
The £5000 guaranteed opening event at Dusk Till Dawn on Saturday 13th of September and the likes of Tony Kendall, Michelle Orpe and Norman Pace will be in attendance. You can qualify for the event only on Sky Poker every night at 8.30pm in a £11+£1 qualifier with a seat for every 5 players. More dates on the tour will be announced shortly.
UK Player to break the Poker Player Marathon World Record?
A player from Lincoln is preparing to break the world record for continuous poker playing next month, which currently stands at 72 hours and 2 minutes. Dave Cain will be attempting to play over 100 hours of continuous heads up poker at the Library Bar of Lincoln University from 8pm on Sunday 14th of September.
Although we hate to tell him that David Benyamine has been playing non stop for the last 18 weeks, we have to get behind Cain because he is doing it all for a great cause. He will be matching his opponent's stakes and the money will be going to two great charities, St Barnabas Hospice and Louth and District Hospice.
You can catch all the action streaming live, make a donation and even arrange to play Dave at his website
www.pokerplayingmarathon.com. This writer has already booked his match with Dave on Monday the 15th, always smelling the blood of a weakened opponent and we will be interviewing Dave in the build up to the event.
