Five weeks after the initial launch of PokerRoom's Poker Island TV Promo, PokerNews is pleased to present the two winners who have battled their way through the Leagues and the Final Freeroll to emerge victorious. As we speak, both winners are in preparations to fly to Ibiza, Spain where they will lap up the luxury in a 5 star villa and enjoy all the spoils the exotic island has to offer. But it won't all be fun and games as residents of the Poker Villa will also have their eyes set on the $100,000 PokerRoom sponsorship deal up for grabs for the player that outlasts and outplays the rest.

The PokerNews Team managed to catch up with both Vincent Caix (1st
Only Poker
place finisher) and Pierre Marceau (2nd place finisher) after their win…

PN:Congratulations on your fabulous effort. Tell us a bit about yourselves.
Vincent: At the moment, I've just been playing poker. I started four years ago and have regularly participated in other PokerNews promotions.
Pierre: I've worked as a Marketing Analyst for the past two years, but I have won much more than my salary since the beginning of the year thanks to poker. I've also been spending a lot of time studying poker theory and analyzing my game.

PN:What interested you most about this promotion?
Vincent: It could pair me with some really good players, plus it would mean I could acquire more experience.
Pierre: The championship and also the fact that I really like the FR.PokerNews members so it is always a pleasure to compete with them.

PN:What are you most looking forward to at Poker Island?
Vincent: This promotion allows me to meet some really strong players and get some live poker experience. I'm also trying to win the sponsorship so I can prove myself.
Pierre: I'm a poker player… my target is clearly the $100,000 sponsorship. And, it's always a pleasure to be taking another holiday.

PN:Tell us a bit about the Final Freeroll…
Vincent: The tournament wasn't easy for me. Some players were difficult to read and when I approached the bubble everyone was playing really tight.
Pierre: The aim was to finish in either 1st or 2nd place. After the bubble, my French opponent was playing really well and he beat me in heads up. But I wasn't as aggressive as usual as I knew I would definitely be going to Ibiza.

Vincent and Pierre are both from France and this will be their first visit to Ibiza. As you can imagine, they are both extremely excited about the trip. May one of them take home the championship and the $100,000 PokerRoom sponsorship deal – good luck to both!

Thanks to everyone else who participated in the Poker Island Leagues and the Qualifier Freeroll.

Ed Note: PokerRoom also offers PokerNews players a fantastic first deposit bonus of 100% up to $500.
