The Asian Poker Tour stops off at the Dusit Thani Manila Hotel, Manila from May 27th until June 1st. Some of pokers biggest names are heading east for a shot at the $1,000,000 prize pool.
When Evelyn Ng, Huck Seed and Layne Flack are attending a poker tournament you can count on the event being one of the most prestigious in the poker calendar. The Manila leg of the Asian Poker Tour starts next week and those three star names are all set to do battle across the felt.
The American trio have superb record in big buy-in poker tournaments. Flack has 5 WSOP bracelets to his name and over $3,000,000 in tournament winnings to date. The word is that Flack is hungry to add an APT title to his impressive stats! Huck Seed has 4 WSOP bracelets, most notably his superb 1996 main event victory which netted him a cool $1,000,000.
Ng has less impressive World Series credentials but is an equally scary opponent! Currently sponsored by Bodog Poker Ng is the queen of cash poker but don't let that detract you from her tournament abilities. Evelyn has the WPT Ladies Night final table, finishing a creditable 2nd. She is such a recognisable face on the world poker circuit now, that she appears in the highly acclaimed X-Box video game "Stacked".
The APT Manila looks set to be a 400 player sell out. The $2,500 buy-in has attracted players from every corner of the globe. There are three more stops on the APT, following Manila; The APT Seoul, The APT Macau and The APT Singapore. Exact locations are yet to be confirmed but with the apparent run away success of the Manila leg, each stop looks set to be a sell out. Satellites for the APT are taking place online at various poker rooms.
