Anyone else feel the earth move on Tuesday night? Scientists have been saying it's the biggest UK earthquake in 25 years but we are here to tell you it is the quite literally groundbreaking month ahead from Paddy Power Poker. OK, that was a pretty lame way of proving that we write these things on the day you read them, but either way it's going to be a massive month at Paddy Power.
That's because over $20 million is being guaranteed in their March Millions promotion. That's an extra $7.5 million on top of their usual $12.5 mil in guarantees this spring. This starts with non other than the $2 million guaranteed tournament this weekend which is set to be one of the biggest ever at the online felt with a first prize of at least $400,000.
On top of this you can expect the usual weekly guaranteed events, including:
Sunday, 7pm: $200,000 Guaranteed - $215 Freezeout
Saturday, 7.30pm: $50,000 Guaranteed - $109 Freezeout
Friday, 8pm: $100,000 Guaranteed - $55 Rebuy
Monday-Thursday, 7.45pm: $45,000 Guaranteed - $55 Rebuy
They will also be holding the last wave of direct satellites to this year's Irish Open, being held in Dublin between the 19th and 24th of March. It is set to potentially be the biggest tournament in Europe this year, with room for nearly 1000 entrants including big names like Doyle Brunson expected to make the trip over. Over €3 million is guaranteed in the prize pool making one of the richest tournaments in Europe.
Paddy Power, Communications Manager for Paddy Power Poker, is delighted to be offering players the best in both live and online poker. "The Irish Open and the $2 Million Guaranteed are two world class events and our players will be spoilt for choice of big money tournaments this month. In fact, the combined prize pools of all the Irish Open festival events, the $2 Million guaranteed and our regular scheduled tournaments will amount to more than $20 million in prize money!"
Power also suggests pre-registering for the Irish Open to avoid any disappointment. "Last year the Irish Open was a complete sell out and places are filling up fast for 2008. Players should register now to ensure their seat at what will be a fantastic festival of poker."
