Read this .
The common denominator behind several of the last few years’ pyramids is that they derive from the same person, Karsten Neil Poulsen from Silkeborg Denmark.

- He’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He may appear to be legit but he’s totally without scruples, says a former top-member of the pyramids to Aftenbladet.

Poulsen started his criminal ways early on. In 1997 he was sentenced to two years in prison for tax-fraud regarding imports of illegal videocassettes. The then 28 years old Poulsen, had connections with Hells Angels and received a harsher sentencing due to his threatening of several of the witnesses, Danish Ekstrabladet wrote in 16.2.97.

Into the pyramid scams

Following his time in prison, Karsten Poulsen started the company Convita together with Richard Scharfenberg. This was a Danish multi-level-marketing-company (MLM) which was supposed to market timeshare-apartments in Spain. It collapsed after getting bad publicity in the papers.

The next project was Gii Corp in 2001. Gii Corp, or Global Investment International, was divided into a multitude of businesses. These included Gii Investments Inc, Gii Sales, Gii Real Estate, Gii Legal Services and Gii Technology in Panama, Gii Entertainment, GiiCorp Holding Ltd in Belize and a lot of national companies including Gii Real Estate (Spain), Gii Membership Benefits (Norway) and Gii Corp (England).

Scharfenberg and Poulsen later got Michael Juul onboard with the project.

- Karsten Poulsen and the people around him, Richard Scharfenberg and Michael Juul, are people I never want to work with again, a highly profiled MLM-networker says who is well known within Gii Corp and who lost a lot of money on the project.

Lost six millions

The Danish man was at the top level of Gii Corp and lost, in total, six millions on the scam. A lot of this money he handed over in cash to Karsten Neil Poulsen.

- I’ve got enough money to get by. Had I got my money back I would’ve distributed them down the pyramid. A lot of people lost their homes over this.
The man wants to come forward with his name, and also supply the police with the information that he’s got, but he is afraid because of the threats he’s received from the people around Poulsen.

- He promised $200 000 to whomever got me away from Gii Corp. People can do a lot of things for that kind of money. It’s gotten so bad I’ve got to install extra security in my house and around my family, the man explains.

The history of threats is confirmed by an independent source who’s been through the same thing.

- Poulsen threatened me with East-European mafia on several occasions, the source confirms.

“Stole” millions

A careful estimate calculates Karsten Neil Poulsens’ earnings in the Gii Corp scam to be between 30 to 60 millions.

- 60-100 millions are probably closer to the truth. A lot of people lost a lot of money on Gii Corp. I’m ashamed to have been involved in this, the investor claims.

Gii Corp made a lot of promises but never had an actual product to sell. It was all a fabric of lies to make people invest more money. The company had earlier sent out press releases boasting of large property investments in Eastern Europe. This turned out to be a lie. The company also bought and sold stock, never having a license to do so. They claimed to have a license on the offshore island of Noie but could never provide documented proof of this.

- This is where they made a lot of money. Karsten Poulsen sold a lot of stock he knew wasn’t worth the paper it was printed on, the networker explains.

Went bad

In 2005 the recruitment for Gii Corp started to slow to a halt. At this moment in time, today’s owner of T6 Poker, insurance salesman Torben Hübertz Knudsen appeared in Gii Corp. A short time thereafter Knudsen disappears, together with several others, from the company. It wasn’t a long stay.

In the meantime Flemming Hebsgaard is hired as “European marketing director” to get the recruitment going again in the company.

Hebsgaard has got a history of being involved in shady businesses. In 1992 he started the company Bil Udlejning Discount in Denmark, and was on several occasions scrutinized by the media due to operating in the margins of the law. Later he was involved in the investment company Chr. d. IV together with John Salomon, who was sentenced in 2002 to four yeas in prison on 28 occasions of fraud, mistrust and illegal documentation. Danish paper Ekstrabladet described the company as “a stink bomb”.

Alston Price

After a short stop at the company RiskProfit, operated by Trond Hov from Svolvaer, Torben Hübertz Knudsen concocted the idea of Alston Price.
The early signs of collapse were also visible in Gii Corp in 2006.

Therefore Knudsen contacted Karsten Neil Poulsen again. They agreed to form Alston Price. Together they devised a time consuming and shrewd scam to kill off Gii Corp and manipulate the members to transfer to Alston price.
These documents have been made available to Aftenbladet.no.

A new series of companies saw the light of day. Alston Price (Belize), Sports Arbitrage Inc, and Afterwards (New Zealand) was formed. It was already decided that AP Group was to be formed in 2006.

Fast name changes are a regular occurrence in MLM-schemes and make it hard to follow up on. The structure also included Hunter (Karsten Poulsens private company), Gatesweeper (Richard Scharfenbergs company) and Honeypot Group.

Aftenbladet.no has got the financial reports which clearly show that a lot of the companies never had any business, they were empty shell companies.

The common denominator

AP Group was later transformed to 1 Oz Group. 1 Oz Group though, occupies the same offices as Alston Price did earlier. In reality, it was the same company. 1 Oz Group started up the internet site T6poker. In the late 2007 the company TSIXPOKER was born in Costa Rica. Aftenbladet has gotten hold of the company-data which shows that the company’s holdings sums up to 100 000 Costa Rica Colon, or roughly $200 worth of stock. They don’t have an office in Costa Rica. The lawyers’ office is marked as the companies address.

In Norway it is Frode Berg and Andre “Gomez” Nilsen who are fronting T6Poker, formerly known from WGI. Aftenbladet.no has written about this business before.

The common denominator, Torben Hübertz Knudsen owns the company, Karsten Poulsen is along for the ride and Richard Scharfenberg is marketing director.

Everyone that Aftenbladet.no has talked to describes Poulsen as the common denominator behind the companies.
On T6Pokers’ own site, Torben Hübertz Knudsen is described as a successful businessman. The truth is that Torben is listed as “bad credit” in the Danish registry RKI. Hence, he is not eligible for a loan or to buy things using a credit. His merits simply derive to his time in insurance sales.

Knudsen has of late been a regular at the poker tables in Las Vegas. According to Knudsen he’s been hooked on gambling for several years.

He lived in Panama for a short while, then in Spain, but is now, allegedly, back in Denmark but there is no proof of address there.

- I’m tired of seeing the same people responsible for sucking other people’s pockets dry, says a MLM-person in Denmark to Aftenbladet.no.

Just a consultant

When confronted by Aftenbladet.no, Karsten Neil Poulsen claims to have never been involved in Alston Price. He claims to just have been a consultant to T6poker and Gii Corp.

- I simply help them to get in contact with the right lawyers and to get the correct permissions, Poulsen says from Italy.

Torben Hübertz Knudsen has not returned our calls.

T6poker claims, in the media, that their goal is to be one of the leading poker sites in the course of one year, using the funds from private investors. Approximately 60 000 “shares” of investment opportunities has been sold, mostly in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland.

What we now for a certain is that no one knows were the funds from Gii Corp and Alston Price is today.

Karsten Neil Poulsen, though, has got a company in Switzerland, Caesar Invest AG, with a total of 100 000 franc (roughly $100 000) in funds. This company was known as Gii Corp. SA until 2.11.2005. Poulsens lawyer, Peter Schüpbach, is the guardian of the company.

At the time when the company was known as Gii Corp they were said to deal in the business of patents, licenses, market, development and administration of E-commerce and IT.

- The company has the same address but can not tell if they will continue the business from Gii Corp, a report states from Caesar Invest AG, dated 03.03.2005.

Notwithstanding the $100 000 it has been impossible to determine what there is of worth in the company.

Interesting. I'm sure it's all OK but I won't be playing there aside from the small bankroll I have built from their freerolls. I shan't deposit there - although that's more to do with their poor customer service than a fear of fraud.

This is the way scams always work. They find a way to attract people, run everything like normal for a couple of months, maybe a year. By that time they probably have lots of traffic and a lot of money on the site. And then all of the sudden they have some sort of "problem". Accounts are frozen etcetc, and they take a lot of money, leave some, and run of to an island somewhere.

It's not without a reason that the people behind this site is on EUs list of people you should NEVER do business with..

Indeed it's a scam. The people behind it have earlier been involved in several Swedish Ponzi and pyramid schemes. There's no doubt that T6 Poker is one as well.

With T6 they have recruited a few poker players to make it look serious. Unfortunatly Tony G is one of them. It is not known who of these poker players are in on the scam and who of them are beeing frauded themselves. Tony G has been using Poker news in a very suspicious way to promote T6, so he may be in on the scam.

Cardplayer is in on it too, they also sold advertising and promote T6. Pokernews and Cardplayer both take advertising from UB and Absolute, so it's not like they are independent sources. I would trust Tony G long before Barry Schulman though.

I think T6 is probably ok, they are cashing out. Some of the value is gone though from the overlay tourneys, but they must be giving away a fortune on their 250k sunday tournament still. The cash games are very good during euro hours I have found. It's a great site probably if you loved the mansion software and like misclicking a lot. Puke.

Tony G, Theirry van der Berg, Anders Henriksson, Mats Rahmn, Jeff Lisandro Billy Argyros and Melvyn Judah is all pretty big names that are pros on the site. Esp in Europe and Australia I think. Many great mtters there.

If the site was a true scam, why would all those big name players waste their reputation for?

Well it's so much more money to just steal the money... and so much faster... Because if there is going big tables, the money that is in the accounts is much more than the rake of many years.
Well that has to be the plan since the people behind it are scammers... It's not easy to make a profitable pokersite. Its' hard to get real traffic and you have to pay for the pros to play there. Just becouse there is few big games going on doesn't mean you make a lot of maney with the rake. But you do make a lot of money by stealing from the high rollers.

It's possible that Tony has been paid pretty big or he is in the scam also...

Either way it's pretty suspicious that you don't think this is a scam even though scammers are behind this...

As has been mentioned, T6 poker is accused of being a pyramid scam, constructed by persons that have earlier been involved in several similar shady ventures - software, arbitrage and other products. But this is the investment bit. It does not follow by any logic that they would steal the players money or that their team - add Rolf Slotboom to names in their pro team btw - has done anything else than sign very lucrative sponsor contracts. It would be no surprise if all the expenditures on these contracts, all the advertising and the many freerolls will make T6 poker grind to a halt and a sudden disappearance at some stage, but probably not yet.

What do you think?
