WSOP Europe - HORSE: Day Two

If day 1 of the £2500 HORSE event was slow (as all HORSE tournaments are) then day 2 saw them dropping like flies (again, as in all HORSE tournaments). 51 players became 8 and with no less than 9 WSOP bracelets between them, it looks like the WSOPE is going to be the big game players arena just as we expected.

Gary 'The Choirboy' Jones picked up where he left off from day 1 and quietly and methodically gathered chips from the get go. He impressed a lot of onlookers, players and dealers alike with his proficiency in all 5 of the HORSE disciplines and by the dinner break held nearly a 2-1 chip lead over his nearest competitor.

Joe Beevers was another player who slowly but very surely accumulated chips. This is amazingly only Joes second HORSE tournament, although he did come third in the first one he played last month. His Hendon Mob-mate Barny Boatman was not so fortunate and fell by the wayside before the final table bubble.

Two other Brits that made the money were Marc Goodwin and Eric Dalby. Dalby isn't that well known on a global circuit but was once the British Lowball champion and clearly proved that he knew a thing or two about a few of the other variants of poker. Only a few Brits made it to day 2 but all but JJ Hazan made it to the money, which is an excellent showing for the home town heroes.

Both Joe Beevers and Gary Jones have made it to the final table. Regrettably they are both near the bottom end of the chip counts after Jones found himself at the wrong end of several pots with Yuval Bronshtein, who now is second in chips. They are joined by a very intimidating final table of Jennifer Harman, Chris Ferguson (Who managed to turn a short stack into a monster in the last 3 hours of the day) Alex Kravchenko and once again chip leader Kirk Morrision.
