Party Bets Release Odds on PartyPoker Irish Poker Champs

Party Bets has just released the betting odds for the Party Poker Irish Poker Championship, Europe's first major tournament of 2008. The tournament will be held at the fantastic Radisson Hotel & Spa, Galway, Ireland, from January 4th to January 6th, 2008. This high profile event is the first major sponsorship in Ireland by Party Poker.

A spokesman for Party Bets said "Early money has come for Joe Beevers and Julian Gardner, but that's no surprise considering both made the final of Poker Million and are seen to be in form. Others seen as frontrunners by the bookmakers include Bruno Fitoussi, Roy Brindley and Marcel Luske. Those with names and reputations in the poker world are bound to attract interest but we are certainly looking out for movers in the market from the big pool of local players and top online qualifiers".

The €2,000 (9 percent withheld) main event buy-in is expected to produce a prize pool of between €500,000 and €1,000,000 and coverage will be recorded for six hour-long broadcasts on RTA, Ireland's national broadcaster, and distributed internationally for television broadcast worldwide. Amongst the professionals who have said they intend to attend are "Ambassador of Poker" Mike Sexton (25/1), 1999 WSOP Main Event Winner Noel Furlong (33/1), "Flying Dutchman" Marcel Luske (25/1), WSOP bracelet winners Ciaran O'Leary (33/1) and Michael Keiner (33/1), Padraig Parkinson (33/1), Robert Williamson III (25/1), Jon Kalmar (33/1), Scott Gray (33/1), Bruno Fitoussi (25/1), Roy Brindley (25/1), Joe Beevers (33/1), Mad Marty Wilson (50/1), Julian Gardner (25/1), Katharine Hartree (50/1), Jeff Duvall (33/1), Alan Vinson (50/1), Steve Wong (33/1), Rory Liffey (33/1) and Ben Vinson (50/1).
