ECOOP Event #5 - $200k Guaranteed, $750+$50 NL Holdem Freezeout

The 5th Event at the European Championship of Online Poker (ECOOP) was the $200k Guaranteed $750 + $50 NL Holdem Freezeout tournament. The tournament prize pool smashed the $200k figure when 409 players fought it out for more than $306k over nearly 10 hours. "OmarIShere" was the eventual winner, claiming a $76k payday.

The final table was very even, with only ANGEL660 extremely short stacked. Well done to the following players on making the final table;

The first player eliminated at the final table was "ANGEL660". She was all-in from the SB with against "Arakas" who had . The board didn't help "ANGEL660" and she was out in 10th place.

Next to go was "Vladislava88" who pushed pre-flop for 82,000 with {A9} and was called by "fhauggen" with . The flop was huge for "Vladislava88", . The turn was the and when the river was the "fhauggen" had hit his straight and "Vladislava88" was out in 9th.

"PresidentPalmer" was then eliminated when he moved all-in for 135,000 with and was called by "Arakas" with . When the hit the turn it was all over for "PresidentPalmer".

"ominiekss" was the next player out when he pushed all-in with only to run into "jonas79" with . When the flop came "jonas99" had taken the lead and held on.

Again the action was pre-flop with a short stacked "Vitjushka" holding and all-in for 75,000 against "Arakas" with . The flop was huge for "Arakas" with giving him a flush. When the hit the turn for a straight flush "Vitjushka" was out in 6th place.

"fhauggen" was the next player to get all his chips in pre-flop and get beaten. He was on the BB and went all-in after a raise on the button from "jonas79", who instantly made the call. "jonas79" was holding to have "fhauggen's" . When the board didn't improve "fhauggen's" hand he was eliminated in 5th position.

The play remained 4-handed for nearly 30 minutes as the players battled hard. "Ace11Spade" eventually made his move going all-in UTG with . He was called by "jonas79" with and the flop came giving "jonas79" trip queens. When the turn was the it was the end of "Ace11Spade".

The joy didn't last long for "jonas79" though, as he was the next to go in 3rd place, after moving all-in for 247,000 pre-flop with from the SB. "OmarlShere" had 1.44 million in chips and made the call with . The turn was the dagger card for "jonas79", with the hitting the board.

This left "OmarlShere" with a commanding lead of 1.7m to "Arakas's" 350k heads up. It was a tough battle though, with the heads up battle lasting for nearly half an hour. The last hand saw "OmarlShere" raise with { pre-flop and "Arakas" calling all-in with . The was in the window and "Arakas" couldn't find the ace he needed. It was a fantastic heads up performance from both players.
