We have just been informed that legendary poker player Chip Reese has passed away. David 'Chip' Reese was regarded by his peers as one of the best all round poker players of his generation. He won three WSOP bracelets, including the coveted $50,000 HORSE event last year, and is a member of the poker hall of fame.
Reese turned down a position at Stanford Business School to play poker professionally after winning over $100,000 as a student. He was described by Doyle Brunson as one of the finest stud players in the World – he boasts two WSOP bracelets in stud and wrote a chapter in Supersystem on the subject.
Reese passed away last night after being admitted to hospital with pneumonia.
UK PokerNews would like to offer our condolences to the friends and family of David 'Chip' Reese during this difficult time. Stay tuned for more on this story as it develops.
