The Great British Poker Tour Grand Final has received a massive boost with the signing of five big name competitors. The GBPT Final in Association with Gala Casinos takes place from the 5th to the 11th of Novemberat the Gala Casino Harbourside, Bristol.
Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari, Jennifer Tilly (pictured), Robert Williamson III and Jamie Gold will be competing and trying to take the title of Great British Poker Champion to the United States. The International influence will add to what promises to be a World Class week of poker.
GBPT Tournament Director Thomas Kremser said: "So far in the GBPT we've seen a really high standard of poker from local amateurs holding their own against the UK and European pro-players, so it'll be fascinating to see what drama will unfold with these star names of World Poker in the frame. For any aspiring poker players, it simply doesn't get any better than this!'
Phil "The Unabomber" Laak and Antonio "The Magician" Laak will be trying to add to their WSOP and WPT successes and combined $4 million in tournament winnings. WSOP Bracelet winner and Hollywood Actress Jennifer "Unabombshell" Tilly will accompany them. As will Robert Williamson III who captained the US is the Poker Nations Cup and has earnt nearly $2 million in his poker career. WSOP Champion Jamie Gold will provide viewers with a unique approach. Gold won a record $12 million for the WSOP title.
The GBPT Grand Final Main Event will have an estimated prize pool of £500,000 with side events raising the bar to a mammoth £650,000 across the week. The winner will also get a seat to the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic in December and the title of "Great British Poker Champion, 2007."
There are three events being held, the £2500+£50 Main Event, plus a £300+£30 and a £1000+£50 tournament.
