It doesn't seem like two minutes since we were bringing you all the action from the grand final in Monte Carlo and now the EPT has rolled around for its 4th Season. Once again Pokernews will be bringing you all the chip counts, drama and bustouts from the inaugural stop on the European Tour, at the Casino De Barcelona.
This year has seen the buy-in double now at €8000 euros a head, demonstrating the dramatic increase in the appeal of these European festivals on the World Stage. There has also been an increased field size this year, with a cap at 600 players, stretched out over two day ones.
Amongst the players confirmed for day 1 a there is Greg Raymer, Sorel Mizzi, Humberto Brenes, Isabelle Mercier and Luca Pagano. Pokerstars own Daniel Negreanu is also rumoured to be in attendance and also for the next stop at the Victoria in London.
Who could forget last years EPT Barcelona when living legend Phil Ivey registered at the last minute only to finish second to Bjorn-Erik Glenne, taking over €1 million between the two of them. With the increased buy-in and potential field size we can expect that final table prize money to double.
Day 1 a starts today and where else can you expect to find out all the news but right here at our live updates page.
Ed Note: Qualify for all the EPT events this season at Pokerstars and get a $150 bonus to help you on your way.
