Daniel 'KidPoker' Negreanu will be making his eagerly awaited EPT debut later on this month, when he joins his new Pokerstars team mates Greg Raymer and Humbeto Brenes in Barcelona. Negreanu will then be making the trip across the pond to visit us at the EPT in London in September, just after the WSOPE.
Negreanu is close to reaching $10 million in tournament earnings alone and an EPT victory would look very impressive on his resume. He is one of many America based legends of the game who are now recognising the value and increasing popularity of the new wave of European tournaments.
Phil Ivey has already come 2nd in an EPT event, Doyle Brunson has recently confirmed for the WSOPE and this years Irish Open was visited by Mike Sexton, Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari, Jennifer Tilly and Dan Harrington amongst others. With the WSOPE set to break a lot of records, attendance records repeatedly being smashed Europe wide and the increased buy-in for this seasons EPT, Europe is now offering tournaments the big name pros simply cannot resist.
Daniels only European result was a 7th place finish in the WPT Grand Prix De Paris in 2003. Negreanu is now a serious contender to challenge for the honour of being the first person to win a WSOP, WPT and EPT title – alongside Joe Hachem, John Gale, Roland De Wolfe, Scotty Nguyen and Gavin Griffin, whom all have two of the three to their name.
[I]Ed Note: Why not try and stop Kid Poker from winning an EPT title by signing up to Pokerstars and qualifying for an EPT for as little as $5.50.[I]
