32Red Aston Villa Shirts Hit The Shops

Aston Villa Football Club’s new shirt sponsors, 32Red, owners of 32Red Poker and the award-winning 32Red casino, should begin to reap some benefits from its investment following the unveiling of the first commercially-available Aston Villa football shirts.

The new Aston Villa away kit displays the 32Red logo on a white shirt and will hit the shops in June. The new home kit will follow later in the summer.

The kit, which features claret trim and light blue shorts, was the resultant design following a survey of over 4,000 Aston Villa fans. They contributed ideas including collar style, badge position, the placing of branded chevrons and the inclusion of an “official merchandise” hologram.

32Red Plc Chief Executive Officer, Ed Ware, thanked the Aston Villa fans for their input:

“The response we had was tremendous and it has enabled Aston Villa and ourselves to put together a great looking strip. Everyone at 32Red plc is very proud and excited that millions of people throughout the world will now see the 32Red.com website address every time they tune into to see Aston Villa playing in the Premiership”

The new away kit was on display at Aston Villa’s training ground earlier this week, with Thomas Sorensen, Liam Ridgewell and Gareth Barry all giving it the thumbs-up.

“The lads really like it” said Villa defender Gareth Barry “The design is really smart and it’s great that the fans have been involved in the look of the new kit too.”

In early April, the parties announced that the period of sponsorship would be for two seasons, 2006/07 and 2007/08, during which the 32Red logo will be displayed on the home and away shirts during each match, enabling exposure of the brand name during prime time television coverage on the Sky Sports football channels and BBC’s Match of the Day. 32Red have said that they will pay a basic six-figure sum per season, with Aston Villa receiving additional revenues under its marketing affiliate arrangement with 32Red.

32Red is licensed, regulated and based in Gibraltar. For the past three years, it has been awarded “Best Casino” by Watchdog and Player Advocate site, Casinomeister.

The Company has a predominantly UK player base, with 83% of customers at 32Red and 32Red Poker registered as coming from the UK & Ireland.

On 23rd September 2005, 32Red plc listed on the London Stock Exchange’s Alternative Investment Market.
