Official Day 1 Chip Counts Released
At long last the chips have been bagged and tallied. The WSOP has now released official chip counts for the opening day of Event 45, the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. World Championship, with 140 of the original 48 entrants returning for Day 2 play.
At the very end of the opening day's action, James "mig.com" Mackey was able to overtake Chris Reslock to become the end-of-day chip leader. Complete chip counts have now been posted, with the top ten as follows:

Shunjiro Uchida Eliminated

on the river, Mikhail Ustinov bet out, Shunjiro Uchida raised all in for the rest of his chips and Ustinov called.
Ustinov rolled over
for two pair and the nut low, and Uchida mucked as he hit the rail. -

Bari Sklar was just sent home when his

Phillipe Rouas got his walking papers during the Stud-8 round when his three queens came up short against the full house of Greg Raymer. -

Amit mucked and Hellmuth showed his losing two pair as he stood up. Fitoussi stacked the pot and Hellmuth headed for the exit.
Just a few hands prior to his elimination, Hellmuth was overheard saying "well I didn't think it was possible to go out of this (tournament) on day one...I like to do things that are tough to do." -
