Day One Complete
With the end of Level 8, play has come to a halt for the day. We began at 5:00pm with 261 players and we have crept under 130 by the end of the night. The field was laced with pros, and we still have a good number of the full-timers who will return tomorrow for day two.
Despite all of the pro action, it appears that our big stack is an amateur. The presumed overnight chip leader is Matt Grapenthien with 51,900 chips. Shawn Sheikhan, Marco Traniello, Barry Greenstein, and both Mizrachi brothers are hot on his heels though, and tomorrow promises a tough fight for all.
We'll be back at 3:00pm local time to pick up the action, playing down to our final nine by the end of the evening. We hope you'll join us then! -

The Mouth Has a Familiar Neighbor
Shawn Sheikhan has just moved his big stack over to Mike "The Mouth" Matusow's table. Not only are they at the same table, but the are seated right next to one another. Both players are amused by this fact, but Matusow seems overly thrilled that Sheikhan has a big stack and is stationed right next to him.

Shannon Elizabeth talking to Daniel Negreanu: "Pros are only pros because they pull cards out of their ass." Everyone got a good chuckle out of that one.
