JC Tran is the overnight chip leader in Event 30Official Day 1 Chip Counts Released
The official end-of-Day-1 chip counts released overnight by the WSOP show that 97 of 218 initial starters have survived into Day 2. JC Tran is the overnight leader, and is the only player to have topped the 100,000-chip plateau, being stacked at 106,400.

That's a Wrap!
Play has concluded for the evening here in the Amazon room! We started the afternoon with 218 players in the field and have dwindled down to just 98 remaining.
Make sure to check back tomorrow at 3pm PDT where we will play down until just the final nine remain. There's no time cap for tomorrow, which means it could be a very long, or possibly short, day of play.

Daniel Negreanu Thrives...But Doesn't Survive
Daniel Negreanu just passed the million-chip mark in the PLO w/rebuys event, but he was just eliminated (for real) in today's $10,000 Limit event. Negreanu was down to 1,100 chips and it was about to come around to his 1,200 big blind. There was just 25 seconds to go in the round and the player to Negreanu's right, in the big blind, could've tanked for a half-minute before mucking. That would've allowed Negreanu to make it to Day 2 and, possibly, play a few hands in person and try to double up a few times.
Instead the player instantly mucked and the dealer moved the button and dealt out one final hand. One that included the last of Negreanu's chips in the middle. "He's a Daniel hater," Erick Lindgren said about the player who didn't give Negreanu a chance to possibly play tomorrow. There was some discussion about whether Negreanu's hand would be turned over to see if he might win the hand, but you have to be at the table to play your hand. If you aren't, your cards go in the muck, and that's what happened to Negreanu's final hand.
Still, the million-plus chips Negreanu has in the PLO w/rebuys event might provide some consolation for the handful he lost at the end of play in the $10,000 Limit Hold'em event. -

Tran Spikes the River
J.C. Tran has been dominating the field this afternoon and he's just added even more chips to his stack.
A player under the gun led out and Tran raised from the cutoff. His opponent called and together they saw a flop of
. The player under the gun check-called after Tran fired into the pot. The turn was the 
and again Tran's opponent check-called. The river was the 
and brought another check-call out of Tran's opponent. Tran turned over A-J while his opponent showed pocket queens. -

Matt Sterling Eliminates Brandon Adams
After a
flop Matt Sterling and Brandon Adams traded raises until the betting was capped. The turn was the 
, Sterling bet and Adams raised for the last of his chips. Sterling called and turned over 
for the flush while Adams held 
for top two pair. Adams didn't make his full house as the

Half the Field, Come and Gone
More than half the field has already been eliminate in today's event, with just 107 entrants remaining. We still have twenty-six minutes left of play in the evening, and the money isn't reached until we hit 27. How much closer will we get to that tonight? Will we break under 100 before the night is over?

Richard Brodie Wins a Huge Pot from Michael Binger
Michael Binger raised from under the gun and Richard Brodie called from the small blind and John Hennigan from the big. The flop came
, Brodie led out, Hennigan called, and Binger raised. Brodie called and Hennigan folded and the two saw the 
come on the turn. Brodie bet, Binger raised, Brodie three-bet and Binger capped it.
On the turn the fell, Brodie checked and Binger bet. Brodie then check-raised and Binger made the call. Brodie turned over for the set on the river and when Binger slapped his cards down on the felt it sure looked like he held pocket fives. Meaning he'd flopped a set and Brodie hit his two-outer on the river. Brodie now sits with 43,000 while Binger was crippled and now has just 6,000. -

Seed Continues to Grow
A player under the gun had limped into the pot when a player on the button raised. Huck Seed, in the big blind, made the call as did the player under the gun.
Flop:
Huck checked the flop while the player under the gun led out. The player on the button got out of the way and Huck made the call. The turn brought the
and Huck led out while the player under the gun called. The river was the and Huck led out again and the player under the gun folded.
After the hand, Huck is up to 58,000. -

Oops
OK, Daniel Negreanu is NOT out of today's event. He left this event and jogged back to his $5,000 PLO w/rebuys tournament. He's down to 6,500 right now and he's being blinded down, but he's still alive.
