2008 Asian Poker Tour - Manila

Asian Poker Tour Main Event - Manila

Congratulations David Saab

After four days of poker we will now say goodbye to Manila after the APT’s successful start to their 2008 tour. The tournament has been well run, well supported and looks to be the driving force behind poker here in Asia. Matt Savage has kept the poker side of things perfectly run and the APT staff have made sure that players have also been taken care of and well looked after in the exciting bustle that is Makati Manila.
To our champion David Saab, we congratulate you on an impressive victory. Well done to Chris Roh on your second place finish. The effort shown on the final table to overcome such an impressive line up was nothing short of breath taking and his legions of fans from Australia will be certainly partying hard tonight.
The standard of poker has been excellent and the contrasting styles of poker from different countries made for exciting poker. The Korean and Japanese invasion on the Phillipines made for entertaining viewing. The APT will now set its sights on Macau in August, where the guarantee has been pushed up to 1.5 Million $USD.
From a broader perspective the poker world will now firmly set its attention to the WSOP where PokerNews will be doing complete tournament coverage. It’s goodbye from the PokerNews crew here in Manila.
