Day 2 has come to an end for 9 weary poker players let alone the staff and media. It’s been a draining day which has seen some fantastic poker.
The two biggest names of Karina Jett and Huck Seed never really got moving and made fairly early exits. There were some great comebacks and some hard luck stories, but the day panned out as they often do, with a mix of large stacks dominating and few shorter stacks coming through from obscurity.
Play was expected to end after around 9 levels but it went deep into the 11th as short stacks survived again and again. David Saab took a massive chip lead with about 12 players left but lost his advantage after a few major pots went in the wrong direction from him.
We are really set up for an enthralling final table without any standout chip leader. The aggression of the Asian’s will be put to the test against the experience and cunning of Saab, Ferrari and Gerasimus. It sets us up for one of the closest and most intriguing final tables we have reported.
Chip counts and seating will be posted as soon as they come to hand and make sure you follow our links to our video footage for interviews and wrap ups with the lovely Sharon Vincello. Good night from Manila and tune in tomorrow.
